When heading to Iringa region on a Tanzania Safari Kisolanza is about 12 miles outside Iringa Town and provides a comfortable location of great value. Around Kisolanza Farm are many and varied hiking and riding trails, perfect for the keen walker or equestrian. With over 250 species of bird in the area, Kisolanza Farm is also an ideal location for amateur ornithologists and professional birdwatchers. Kisolanza Farm lies within interesting surroundings which are especially good for children. It is a relaxing place with a peaceful atmosphere. Standards of service are high and there is a pleasant climate makes Kisolanza an excellent place to spend one or two nights.

Kisolanza is still a working farm. It has cattle, sheep and vegetables as well as tobacco and flowers. You are welcome to explore the farm, where your safari cook may place an order for excellent beef, lamb, eggs and fresh vegetables for your next leg to Ruaha or wherever.

Kisolanza farm is owned by the Ghaui family which have been living in East Africa for over a hundred years now. They are great hosts and are happy to share their extensive knowledge of the area with you.

A trip to Isimila Stone Age Site, a short drive away from Kisolanza, makes for a fascinating afternoon. The best time to visit Isimila is in the late afternoon when the temperature drops and the area begins to cool down. There is also a small canyon with sandstone pillars, and some unusual fauna, all of which looks beautiful in the warm light of the sinking sun.
