International Trade Fair, Dar es Salaam

Dar es Salaam's International Trade Fair happens annually on the 7th July. This date is known as Saba Saba, which literally translates as Seven Seven - the seventh day of the seventh month. Saba Saba is Workers Day, and is a National Holiday for Tanzania.

While the country relaxes on Saba Saba, Dar es Salaam is a hive of activity, hosting the annual International Trade Fair at the Mwalimu JK Nyerere Fair Grounds. The International Trade Fair is now in its thirty-second year, having originally been held to promote Tanzanian exports. Now the International Trade Fair has grown into an important annual event, hosting over 1500 exhibitors from over 18 different countries.
